She is completing a PhD and is a specialist in stuttering who works with children and their parents to improve communication, language development and helps them function better in their every day lives.

What's the difference between a speech pathologist and speech therapist?

There is no difference between the two - "speech therapist" is an informal term, the professional term is "speech language pathologist" or "SLP". In Australia, only professionals registered with Speech Pathology Australia can be certified, professional speech pathologists.


Do you need a referral to see a speech pathologist?
