Bethbirri Counselling was established for the Surfcoast, Bellarine and Geelong regions in 1995 in order to provide quality counselling for individuals, couples, families and young people who are struggling with life issues of various kinds.
Therapists are fully qualified, experienced professionals who care and are committed to seeing productive changes in people's lives that lead to greater well-being and growth for clients.

The principle Therapist, Mary-Ruth Dowd (CCAA (Clin); AAFT(Assoc); PACFA (Clin); PACFA reg.Supervisor)is a fully accredited and experienced therapist and Supervisor. She has encountered many client problems and issues in her career and can put you at ease. She is about making therapy a relaxed, friendly, affordable and effective experience.
Mary-Ruth is also highly qualified to provide professional Supervision for other professionals in the field - individual or group - and regularly gives lectures and workshops within the profession.

In therapy, other community organisations may be activated on behalf of clients, and if, in the course of your counselling it is felt the involvement of other professionals would be beneficial to your situation, this will be facilitated, upon discussion with you.

Fees for counselling are set on a sliding scale of income so that any and all comers may receive counselling, regardless of income circumstances. The service is non-profit. This, along with the top quality counselling received, is why this practice continues strongly, 20 yrs. after it's beginning.....
