The Tasmanian Guitar Studio offers world-class tuition by Gareth Koch, an ARIA Award winning guitarist and teacher with over 30 years experience. He has taught at the Universities of Sydney, Newcastle, Tasmania and Linz (Austria). Gareth studied in Sydney, Madrid and Vienna and holds Bachelor and PhD degrees in Music.
Focussing on the creative, technical and professional development of students of all ages, levels, solo and ensemble.
The Tasmanian Guitar Studio offers nationally accredited qualifications through the Australian Music Examinations Board.
All students receive regular performance opportunities in premium concert venues.
All ages and levels are welcome, especially beginners. Its easy to become part of Tasmania's leading guitar teaching institution. Coaching is also available in ensemble playing, preparation for examinations, auditions and solo performances.

How long does it take to learn the piano?
It depends how proficient you like to be, you could learn one song at a beginner level in just a few weeks or master in 10 years or more. It really depends what your goals are, a good piano teacher can really help with this process.
Am I too old to learn an instrument?
You're never too old to learn. Despite the saying you can't teach an old dog new tricks, there is increasing evidence about the brain's plasticity and ability to learn. So give it a go, it might even help ward off dementia.
