What does a Turbocharger do?

A turbocharger is fitted to a engine to increase power output. It does this by using the exhaust gas to spin a turbine wheel which is connect to a compressor wheel by a shaft within the turbocharger. This compressor wheel compresses the incoming air. This compressed air is then fed into the engine and because more air and fuel is able to enter the engine you then get an increased power output.
