Heritage walk - The town has some of the most outstanding art deco architecture in Australia.

Tweed River Art Gallery - Enjoying a fine reputation, the excellent gallery sits on a hillside with gorgeous panoramic views of the Tweed Valley and Border Ranges.

The Red Rattlers Gallery - Two vintage Red Rattler train carriages, beautifully preserved from 1928. Inside there is a gorgeous art gallery and cake shop where you can browse for some stunning handmade gifts and enjoy some delicious cakes and coffee.

Mount Warning National Park - A lush conservation area protecting the Wollumbin-Mount Warning mountain area that was formed from the remains from an ancient volcano. Perfect for all nature lovers who enjoy hiking and being surrounded by scenic beauty.

The Clarrie Hall Dam - A great place for water sports such as canoeing, kayaking, fishing and skiing. There is an annual fishing competition held here and is the ideal place to take the family for a picnic surrounded by nature at the water's edge.

Tweed River Cruise - Travel the Tweed River with a knowledgeable guide. It is the perfect way to see the beautiful wildlife and bird colonies along the river banks.

Surfing at Tweed-Coolangatta - One of the most popular surfing spots at the mouth of the Tweed River. There is also deep sea fishing, excellent diving spots, snorkelling and other boating activities available here. Just 30kms away from the heart of the Tweed valley.

The Natural Bridge at Springbrook National Park - Just over half an hour's drive away from Murwillumbah and well worth the trip. A naturally formed arch or bridge with mountain waters gushing down from Cave Creek creates a spectacular waterfall. There is a beautiful sparkling pool and at night, the biggest glow-worm colony in all of Australia will give you a natural show that you will remember forever.

Tweed Banana Festival - Held annually in Murwillumbah. It is the 2nd oldest festival in Australia and takes over the town in August. Each year there's rather a madcap theme, so if you're going to 'go bananas' check the website.
