Lauren Sokolski is an experienced counsellor and therapist as well as registered social worker with over 28 years counselling experience working with individuals and couples. She has been in private practice for the past 8 years and helps people struggling with relationship problems, issues of grief and loss, life transitions, depression and anxiety.
Lauren believes that each person has the potential to live an authentic and meaningful life. She appreciates the opportunity to participate in each person's journey of self-discovery. Lauren practices with great attention to confidentiality, respect and acceptance of who you are and where you may be in your life.
As a relationship counsellor, Lauren works from a position of respect for each partner and for the relationship. She listens carefully to each partner's perspective in order to develop an understanding of the dynamics occurring in the relationship. Lauren works with you to develop a better understanding of your selves, of what each partner brings to the relationship and how this impacts your ability to communicate effectively with each other.
Lauren uses different approaches depending on the presentation of your issues. She often facilitates Psych-K® - a process that is a direct way to identify and change subconscious beliefs that perpetuate old habits of thinking and behaving.
