Dr Rebecca Hamilton is an experienced clinical psychologist, who specialises in providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and parents.
Dr Rebecca Hamilton is a clinical psychologist with over 10 years experience. She specialises in working with children and adolescents with a range of presenting concerns, including depressed or low mood, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, school refusal, difficulties managing emotions, learning/academic difficulties, and psychological difficulties associated with chronic health health conditions such as Type I or Type II Diabetes. Rebecca is also able to support parents with parenting difficulties.
Rebecca draws on a range of evidence-based techniques when working with a young person in order to flexibly meet their treatment goals. These include play therapy, attachment based interventions, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She offers individual sessions to children and adolescents, parent sessions, group parenting programs, and cognitive and academic assessments.
She approaches the work with curiosity, warmth, and compassion, and hopes to build a strong alliance with the families she works with.
