I first discovered the beauty of video when watching my Pop’s family videos captured on his 8mm camera and showed at family gatherings on an 8mm projector against the lounge room wall. How he would love the development in technology where you can now capture High Definition footage, editing on your home PC and show your final product not only of your widescreen Television but through social media sites such as FaceBook, YouTube and the array of portable devices such as iphones and tablets. I have developed my craft from when I was a teenager capturing family moments, through to my own adventures overseas from Africa, The Kokoda Track, Asia and now my own family along with the requirements of Everlasting Productions.
My serious love for multimedia productions came with the birth of my daughters. This came at a time when digital video and editing was just starting to be released to consumers. I remember my first digital video camera although very simple and low quality by todays standard this is what I captured both my girls growing up from their birth, first steps, christenings, first day at school and more sporting and educational achievements.
It was a big step when I made the decision to share my knowledge and experience with the world. That was over ten years ago and hasn’t the world changed in that time. At this click of a mouse I can share my productions with people across the other side of the world, I am producing productions on Blu-ray and customers are viewing their special moments in High Definition on their widescreen televisions at home. I am now producing clips that can be viewed on a huge array of portable devices. In an ever changing world, I pride myself that I am changing with it. But the skill of having the eye to capture that moment has not changed; I pride myself on my ability to see what is about to happen in a relaxed atmosphere. I am often told by my Clients, “I didn’t realise you were even there.”
