As the baby boomers sought new technology and generations X & Y were born, computers in homes became as common as household pets. Computers need printers, this new age home usage resulted in the development of a cheaper more affordable printer cartridge type, the inkjet or ink cartridge. Whereas laser printer toner cartridges are like a fine dust with metal content bonded to page by a fuser, the inkjet was liquid, not unlike the olden day fountain pens, but with a substantially enhanced intellectual delivery system, the print head. The recharge / remanufacturer industry as it was initially known in the early 90\'s, soon embraced the inkjet technology and delivered, in most instances, an easy cost effective way to not only refill printer ink cartridges, but for consumers end users to do it themselves. In a nutshell, they are not as simple to refill & more time consuming then ink cartridges, are easily ruined, and no it is not as simple as drill & fill. Drum exposure will ruin your cartridge, drill or burn containment accessing the cartridge into the toner hopper will ruin both the doctor blade & magnetic roller eventually ruining the drum, leading to unbearably poor print quality.
