Centre Philosophy


Beldon School of Early Learning supports and encourages positive relationships amongst children, families and staff. The centres provide a compliment to parental care within a warm and caring learning environment that both nurtures the individual child and supports the families needs.

Our programs are rich in discovery, fun and learning activities that are designed to help enhance each child’s self esteem and sense of self worth. Children are introduced to activities and opportunities that support the latest findings in their emotional, social, creative, cognitive and physical growth through the value of play.

The children participate in an anti-bias curriculum and environment that fosters active learning, autonomy, freedom, and a sense of order. The staff strive to stimulate each childs natural curiosity and encourage personal expression through real experience and play.

The centres have a commitment to foster the values of co-operation, kindness, empathy, respect and responsibility. In order to achieve this objective, a daily schedule of activities has been developed which includes both active and passive play, indoors and outdoors, free play and structured learning periods, large and small group activities, excursions and a consistent approach to meals, sleep times and toileting routines.

As families are of primary importance in a child's development, the staff strive to bring about collaboration between the home and centre in ways that enhance the child's development.

The staff have a commitment to develop relationships of mutual trust with the families and the wider community they serve, to respect the dignity of each family, each families' child rearing values and their right to make decisions for their children, to interpret each child's progress and to help families understand and appreciate the value of developmentally appropriate early childhood programs.
