Mungatta Murray Grey Stud has over thirty years' experience, and uses proven techniques for assessing breed plan figures, fertility and overall performance parameters. The Stud's females are selected for their femininity and their ability to rear calves in the dry conditions prevailing in the Western Australian Wheat Belt.
Mungatta Murray Grey Stud was established in 1973 with the purchase of several well-bred Murray Grey females. After registration as a stud in 1974, a sire of influence, Champagne Charlie was purchased in 1977. Champagne Charlie introduced sound structure, muscling and balance. Several of his progeny went on to win awards at the Perth Royal Show and at regional shows.
After many successful years producing show-winning stock, the Stud changed its focus to overall performance, and Mungatta cattle have appeared in the 2004 Group Breeders Plan Stud Sire Analysis. Mungatta Murray Grey Stud makes extensive use of artificial insemination, and offers semen for sale. The Stud publishes a catalogue of bulls for sale at its website.
