Plenty of space for new stallholders outside, some space for new stallholders inside at times. Operating for over 46 years, the Don Market is the oldest market on the NW coast of Tasmania nestled on the banks of the Don River and across the road from the iconic Don River Railway. Operating every Sunday(except Christmas and New Years Day). We have a wide and dynamic range of stalls. Some stallholders are weekly, some fortnightly, monthly and others just now and then, so there is always a good variety to see. Our cafe opens every market day with a variety of very well priced foods-snacks, mains and desserts. Many local makers share their wares, and Fat Granny's keeps us well fed also with home baking, sauces and jams. We regularly have new handbags, knitted toys and smocked dresses, overalls for children, baby's knitted jackets, bootees and more, crochet rugs, embroidered towels, hand made cuddle bears, jewellery and hand painted silk scarves. Other stallholders who come regularly but not every week bring in hand made cards, Tupperware, bric-a-brac, scented candles, hand made soaps, hand knitted socks, cement garden ornaments, and mini gardens. In fact , it is seldom that we have 2 weeks alike. Outside we have our regular stallholders(unless the weather is really bad). Fresh fruit and veg and plants. We have "a just turn up " system for outside and stallholders are welcome to just come along without making a booking and we find a space that best suits when they arrive, in the dry weather spreading down onto the grassed area facilitating a relaxed atmosphere to shop. Most weeks we have some form of music from buskers and at times we pull out the dance floor and have our local dancers come and give some rock and roll demos. We are an innovative market and are open to trying new ideas, including special days throughout the year. Halloween, car show, Teddy Bear Picnic, Easter Fun Day with some old fashioned races-late for school, egg and spoon, 3 legged race, Mothers Day, Fathers Day Twilight Christmas Market and other special events throughout the that present themselves and will be advertised on our Facebook page. Bookings are essential for inside stalls, not....
