Becky Austin Art helps art lovers with beautiful homes to choose art that resonates with them and decorate their walls with original abstract paintings they love.
I know when you select art pieces for your home you are looking for something that you will love seeing every day. Something you can fall in love with again and again as your soul finds something in the colours, shapes, textures and lines that feels warm and exciting and real. You know to take this art home and hang it on your wall will bring a lasting smile.
Hi, my name is Becky and I am a painter of abstract artworks that make me smile.
I live in Perth, Western Australia with my husband, the youngest of our five children and our family cats. I enjoy people, travel, a good book and great wine. I am awed by the vast open spaces and colours of the Australian landscape and the distant horizons of our coastlines. Immersing myself in these special places quietens my mind and soothes my soul.
My work is a response to my thoughts and feelings and I am moved by the complexity of abstract expression. The interplay between man-made objects and structures and the natural world is of great interest to me. I find it fascinating to examine the way the inevitable conflicts inform our lives and make us feel.
I use acrylics, mixed media and collage to capture the movement and essence of places I love, the quiet rhythms, and the feelings they evoke. I almost never use a brush but instead, use large non-traditional tools to paint and print along with other mixed media for drawing. I use strong, simple graphic shapes and areas of quiet to interact with soft patterns and gentle lines. To me, lines reflect the way we move through space and time. In my work, they reflect the imprints that life and the environment leave on us as well as the imprints we leave behind on the people and the world around us. I create highly textured surfaces that are designed to invite your touch.
My paintings are intended as a visual song, deliberately layered and embracing the opposites found in our lives and surroundings as well as the media I use.
I would love the opportunity to help you find artwork that is spe....
