Yurts, also known as gers, are a circular structures that have been used by nomadic tribes in central Asia for thousands of years. Even today, yurts are lived in for many months at a time, and are deconstructed & transported when it is time to move.

The structure of a traditional Mongolian yurt is made from all natural materials, namely, timber, sinew and horse hair ropes. At the peak of the roof is the the crown.

Quality yurts are sturdy and well insulated. The structure of the yurt covered with a cotton lining, thick felt, PVC and canvas. Yurt are designed to withstand extreme weather, including high wind and storms. So you can expect to be warm and cosy in the yurt in winter.

Yurt Hideaway features a 6 metre wide genuine Mongolian Yurt, handmade with traditional materials and imported direct from Mongolia. The hardwood floor, furnishings, mod cons & landscaping, transform this amazing structure into a blissful retreat.

Tootgarook is a small suburb before the township of Rye. Both Rye and Tootgarook are popular holiday destinations as they are close to the beach and centrally located on the southern Mornington Peninsula. Here you'll have easy access to all the peninsula has to offer, including the Peninsula Hot Springs & Alba Thermal Springs.
