Raymond Island is possibly the only place in Australia where you can walk 2 kilometres and be guaranteed to see many koalas in the wild.
The Raymond Island Koala Trail is enjoyed by more than 35,000 visitors each year.
It is a walking trail only - you cannot drive around the trail. Visitors are asked to leave their cars in Paynesville and travel free on the Raymond Island ferry as a foot passenger (departs every 20 minutes). The Koala Trail starts as soon as you disembark the ferry and finishes back at it. The Koala Trail is free to walk and is on public land around the township.
