Empathic design for the practice means encouraging spatial health - environments that support a positive lifestyle through an alliance with nature and a deep understanding of the client, their unique needs and behaviours. Each project is informed by a process of consultation with the client and compassion towards their perspectives but also the characteristics and values exclusive to the site.

Mike, with a background rooted in woodworking and timber construction, promotes the process of making, local materials and craftsmanship as the foundation to every project. The practice, while small, leverages collaboration on a project by project basis with experts in construction, ecology, placemaking, and building technology.
